Design Principles of AOSP STB

We decided to get into the market as AOSP STB designer and developer. As you can see in this post we described why we chose STB (Set-top box), now we will describe why we chose AOSP (Android Open Source Project)?

As a quick answer; the most important reason is that the ecosystem of Android is big enough. This ecosystem consists of SOC manufacturers, Application developers, Open-source and well-documented codes, and many other essential infrastructures.

The very first step of this procedure is to select the optimal SOC (System On Chip) as the basic component of our device. There are many chip design companies in the world that design SOC for STBs and the majority of them developed their products based on ARM architecture.
